When an early morning accident takes the life of someone unexpectedly, it shocks our senses, and should. This drunk driver changed the lives of numerous people in a moment and his actions should be judged harshly. Even so, criminal charges won’t bring back a loved one. Those left behind are often forced to make tough emotional and financial decisions. Most insurance policies don’t pay out enough to adequately cover the costs of medical care, physical damage, loss of companionship, and other damages. Sometimes, when the crash involves an intoxicated driver, an establishment that serves alcohol has liability through what is referred to as a Dram Shop cause of action. When an alcohol provider sells alcohol to an obviously intoxicated person, they can be held liable for an injury or death they cause to themself or others. Victims and their families are often faced with shouldering the emotional and financial burdens alone during this difficult time. To help victims walk through the path of restoration, a third-party with experience in these areas can help them explore all their options to obtain a just financial recovery. Navigating this process during a time of loss or health concerns can be very difficult. When those difficulties come, a third-party may need to assist them in moving their case in a forward motion.
