On Monday, August 15th, several people were injured after a serious collision involving seven automobiles in north Harris County. The wreck occurred on U.S. 59 Eastex Freeway’s main lanes at Rankin Road in north Harris County. The police arrived on the scene around 9:00 am . An 18-wheeler appeared to be one of the cars involved in the collision, according to Houston Transtar. All of the lanes reopened around 3:52 p.m.
According to Houston police, numerous people, including a pregnant woman, were sent to local hospitals with serious injuries.
Police have not yet determined what the cause was for this accident. Since the wreck involved seven vehicles, it will likely be a complex accident for authorities to reconstruct. Many times, the investigation performed by law enforcement isn’t as thorough as it should be because of time, staffing, and unavailable resources. Oftentimes, having an independent investigation and crash scene reconstruction performed can provide crucial evidence. Getting the right people involved quickly is key to preserving evidence and often the only way to really know what caused a crash.
